2024 - Year End

As 2024 comes to a close, we feel gratified that our positions about agility and leadership have been strongly validated. The Agile community seems to be acknowledging that leadership is the central issue for agility and effectiveness. In fact, we were offered and accepted the Agile Alliance’s invitation to join their committee to reimagine Agile, and in those discussions we found broad consensus about these issues. We also found broad consensus on the negative role that Agile frameworks have played in the devolution of Agile. These sentiments are shared by the larger community, as reflected in the 700+ responses to a post of ours that went viral and received almost 2 million views.

In 2024 we,

  • Continued to support clients, including the Infectious Diseases and Oncology Research Institute in South Africa, as it implements the research agility and business agility strategies that we helped them to develop.

  • Announced the joining of Dave Richards, PhD, a co-founder of the MIT Innovation Lab and a seasoned executive and consultant with deep experience helping organizations to be maximally innovative.

  • Ran a series of workshops with people in leadership roles, to find out from them what leadership traits matter most.

  • Redesigned our entire “Agile 2 Foundations” course, which is a leadership training program, and made it shorter and vastly more engaging and effective from a learning perspective.

  • Piloted the revised course with several groups and optimized it based on feedback. We are now confident that it is now one of the most effective leadership programs that exist.

  • Published the textbook for the Management Track of our leadership program. (We are currently completing the textbook for the core Tracks on leadership, communication, culture, transformation, and flow.)

  • Launched our new online learning community, in which all of our training programs are offered. (Join it! That way you can participate.)

  • Updated our DevOps course to include AI. It is unique in that it is designed with an on-ramp for non-programmers; yet it is one of the most full-system DevOps programs out there.

We would like to thank all those who participated in the pilots. We will be marketing the updated leadership program in 2025. Stay tuned!

We hope you had a wonderful holiday and wish you a very happy New Year!
